DAN MARK (DK)
1.Model DK1. This model is not valid for driving in Denmark. Nevertheless, this licence can be renewed by ex-
changing it for a new driving licence issued by DK or another Member State until 30 April 2038 at the latest.
2.Models DK1, DK2. In this context category A1 means motorcycle without a sidecar and does not correspond 
with subcategory A1 as defined in Directive 91/439/EEC. Category A2 means motorcycles with a sidecar. The 
entitlement to drive A1 and A vehicles with the Danish category A1 is restricted to motorcycles without a 
sidecar. However, holders of Danish categories A1 and A2 are entitled to obtain full category A1 and A in 
other Member States.
3.Models DK1, DK2, DK3. This restriction only applies to category A.
4.Model DK4. The date of first issue of driving licence categories that were issued before 1 May 1986 cannot be
traced back. In such cases, the symbol ‘<’ or ‘~’ may appear in column 10 on the licence, accompanied by a 
certain year, indicating that the category was issued before or in that year.
DK: Description and security features
Models DK2, DK3.
Security features: Watermarks in the paper (design: *police glove with an eye*). The watermarks are situated in two 
vertical and unbroken lines across the paper. Relief printing in the plastic laminate on the page containing personal 
data of the licence holder. The relief printing is designed as a wave shaped pattern.
Model DK4.
Security features: The design of the background printing of the driving licence. In particular, the graduation of the fine 
lines of the pattern and the delimitation of the colours of these lines.
